The goal of SHARPER is to make the passions of researchers accessible and comprehensible to everyone, starting from the young generations, through communication formats and engaging activities that take place in unusual places and make researchers’ lives a shared experience with a large audience in Italy. Researchers are evidence hunters, their passion for facts, data and observations collected, accumulated and interpreted with constant and patient activity day by day, it is one of the main characteristics of the researchers. It is usually combined with their skill and commitment to using these tests to deal with some of the most complex issues relevant to all of us: from fundamental research problems, such as those related to origin of the universe or the structure of our brain, technological efforts and social challenges.
Observa will plan evaluation activities using quantitative and qualitative methods.
The constant search for evidence reveals not only their insatiable curiosity, but also their passion for challenge the limits of our knowledge and innovate going beyond the known, being able to accept and adapt to changes or, in one sentence, show a deep passion for resilience. The combination of these the passions of researchers to identify and understand facts and to adapt and evolve expertly by innovating and the opportunity for citizens to meet them seems to be vital in a constantly evolving society.
The acronym SHARPER – Sharing Researchers’ Passion for Evidences and Resilience sums it up elements and is the name of the European Researchers’ Night in Italy to be held on the 28th of September 2018 and September 27, 2019 simultaneously in 11 cities: (Northern Italy) Trieste (host city of ESOF 2020) Pavia; (Central Italy) Ancona, Macerata, Perugia, L’Aquila; (Southern Italy) Naples (Sicily) Palermo (Italian Capital of Culture 2018), Catania; (Sardinia) Cagliari and Nuoro.
